Location #6 - Brick Walls - Iowa City, IA

Brick walls are a great backdrop for almost any photography session, adding interest and character. Here are two walls I love to photograph against.

Location #5 - Hickory Hill Park - Iowa City, IA

Hickory Hill Park is one of my favorite places to photograph. The area has tall grasses, hidden paths, flowers, wooden benches, streams, small bridges, and large stones, which offers plenty of versatility in what type of portraits can be taken in this area.

Location #4 - Brown Deer Golf Course - Coralville, IA

Brown Deer Golf Course is not your typical outdoor space to take portraits, however, it does have a perfect spot right off its main parking lot, offering an entire hill of tall prairie grasses. This spot is perfect for summer or fall portraits.

Location #3 - Coralville Bike Path - Coralville, IA

The Coralville Bike Path is in an easily accessible area for those who want outdoor portraits, but like a more manicured area. Lean against a tall tree, or take a rest on one of the limestone walls - either way this area is a gorgeous place for portraits.

Location #2 - Coralville Reservoir - Coralville, IA

The Coralville Reservoir has many rocky areas that slide down toward the water, making it a peaceful place for portraits. With the water at the bottom of the rocks it gives a soft edge, and gives photos at sunset a perfect tranquil feeling.

This area also offers tall grasses, and trees for a natural background setting.

Location #1 - Green Castle - Cedar Rapids, IA

Green Castle is located just south-east of Cedar Rapids, IA, near Swisher, IA. The area offers fallen trees and drift wood, and tall grasses, for a classic outdoors look, and an old concrete and metal bridge for a fallen industrial look. The area also offers a nice set of railroad tracks, surrounded by beautiful trees, which is perfect for a senior photo session.
